A Hogwarts Year 17 Job Fair Event Activity
The room that was reserved for the Magizoology seminar was nearly the same as when Anton Clarke, the magizoologist sent by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures for the job fair, arrived earlier this morning, except for an organized array of objects on a long table at the front. His job today was to introduce the careers within the field of Magizoology to prospective students and job seekers. As wizards and witches of various ages trickled into the room, he noticed several surprised expressions at the emptiness of the room, and even a few craned necks in search of non-existent creatures that they assumed were hidden.
When the time to start the seminar arrived and everyone had sat down in a seat, Clarke began, “Good morning, everyone. My name is Anton Clarke and I will be the person leading this job seminar on Magizoology. Now, as all of you entered, I noticed that some of you were surprised that there isn’t a Jarvey running around the room or a Murtlap hiding underneath the table.” He arched an eyebrow and knocked on the long table behind him. “Since I assume everyone is taking or have taken a class on magical creatures, I will kindly leave the bit of how to handle magical beasts to the professor. Today, I will be introducing some of the lesser-known aspects to Magizoology careers.”
He walked around the table to reveal the display of objects. “One such aspect to many jobs in Magizoology is tracking, whether it be to record data on an endangered species or to contain a magical beast running amuck in a Muggle society. Often times, only something as small as a hair or a feather will be left behind.” Clarke held up the objects one by one for everyone to see: a bird feather, a chipped off piece of a creature’s hoof, a whisker from a large cat, a dog hair, and a horn resembling that of a rhino’s. “To demonstrate this process, I want everyone to try creating a magical creature based on one of these objects. No known magical creatures. I want you to use your imagination.” He smirked. “There’s also a small prize for those I find the most impressive. You may begin.”
With that, Clarke allowed everyone to form a line to inspect the objects.
