Special blog: Polyjuiced Wizards
Interview with Gabriel Warner
Head of
The last few days were at least... chaotic. We had a lot of our dearest grad staff turned into bald men at the first of the year, and even during the investigations, some more people were turned, including one of my dearest colleagues. Right now, we have 29 Tiagos, including the original one!
Given that, I decided to interview one of my role models and one of the bald men who is working at the Ministry of Magic, The Head of the Hufflepuff House, the one and only...
Gabriel Warner!
We should see how the interview went, shouldn't we?
Annabelle: Hello, Mr. Warner. Thank you for accepting the interview! As I don't want to prevent you from doing your job for a long time, I will start the questions right away! Firstly, how did you get polyjuiced?
Gabriel: As I was walking along the halls of the DMLE receiving the first reports of the polyjuice situation, a charmed mop bucket exploded beside me on my path! A good amount of liquid hit me, including in my mouth. It was gross, but I thought little of it....until I felt the effects of the polyjuice start to take over! It was annoying enough, but it became QUITE upsetting as it didn't wear off after the standard hour!
Annabelle: Oh, I feel like you had one of the most uncommon ways to get polyjuiced! Now, The second one. What is your opinion about the polyjuice situation?
Gabriel: My opinion on this whole polyjuice situation is...annoyance! While the potion work behind an extended Polyjuice is brilliant, the effect to wizarding society during this time has been chaotic--and not the fun kind! Not only is it a huge overstep on the boundaries of bodily autonomy, but it's also being used for criminal activity on top of it! It's very upsetting. On top of that from a personal standpoint, I was NOT looking forward to spending the first month or so of my baby's adoption not even looking like myself; not to mention how genuinely weird this is for my fiance and I! If this isn't cleared up soon, I don't know what I'll do!
Annabelle: Your annoyance is understandable, Mr. Warner. I think all of us would be annoyed if we would be in your shoes. I heard many opinions lately about Tiago, from people who admired him to some who couldn't wait to see him detained. I personally really don't know what to believe! But I'd like to know what do you think about Tiago?
Gabriel: I think he's a menace. He might be as dangerous on the surface as some criminals we've seen in the past, but his complete disregard for the safety and autonomy of others could prove that he'll escalate later if he goes unchecked! Even now, his actions of thievery, vandalism, and dramatic risks are dangerous, and he must be brought to heel and incarcerated after a trial as soon as possible. The problems of polyjuice based terrorism--previously almost unheard of at this level--are innumerable!
Annabelle: I do believe that you are right! Even that his actions are more than surprising and he managed to fool so many people, he must have a trial! Now, as I am sure you saw many criminals like him and you might have started to understand how their minds work, I have to ask you to try to think as he does. If you were Tiago, what kind of people would you want to work for you? I am pretty sure he can't put his faith in anyone! And also, how do you think he makes people work for him?
Gabriel: I'm sure he'd wish for a few types. There are some people who go into criminal activity such as this as a way to lash out at society--they might feel the world has been against them, so they are against it in return! He may also focus on money-focused people--people who are greedy or even people who might be vulnerable and need to financial boost. He may also be using blackmail for some; I wouldn't put it passed him!
Annabelle: Oh, blackmailing? I never thought about it, but it would make so much sense! Time for another question! I am pretty sure you know that some of us are doing our best trying to discover who is in RTT and are investigating on our own. Do you have any advice for us? Maybe some tips on how to discover them or how to stop Tiago? Or how to find him? Anything would help, and your experience as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement will be useful!
Gabriel: My best advice for anyone searching for suspects is this: consistency in a story is key to maintaining a cover--or in telling if someone is truthful. The truth is consistent and the base of it never changes, even if more details are remembered. Lies always have something inconsistent that contradict each other, unless the person is amazingly skilled!
Annabelle: That's such a piece of good advice! I'll keep that in mind, that will certainly help me in the future, not only during that investigation. Now, the last question! Can you tell me what security and safety measures were taken? Only if that is not a secret. Also, how can we, ordinary wizards, protect us?
Gabriel: As of now, we are advising people to not drink anything that they cannot be absolutely sure of; even if you ordered a drink and it was opened at your table, if you leave it unattended for even a moment, discard it! Also, stay away from any large containers of water or other liquids. It can hide the potion just as easily.
Annabelle: Oh, yes, yes. Liquids can be very dangerous these days! Do you have something else to add, Mr. Warner?
Gabriel: We are working around the clock at the DMLE and the Ministry as a whole to solve this issue and bring these criminals to justice. It certainly is a difficult situation for myself as it is--I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for others!
Annabelle: Oh, I wish you will manage to solve this as soon as possible! Good luck and thank you for letting me interview you! I hope I did not impede you from doing something important! Thank you, Mr. Warner!
I don't know about you, but for me, Gabriel Warner seems one of the safest Tiagos we have! And I will surely follow his advice, I like my blonde hair a little too much to become a bald man! Even that I would get some more dancing skills.
See you soon, cupcakes!
