Overview

The Antidote to Common Poisons, sometimes known as the Antidote for Common Poisons, was a potion and antidote that neutralized common poisons, including stings and bites from creatures. Mistletoe berries, ground unicorn horn, bezoars, and Standard Ingredient were among its ingredients. Magical Drafts and Potions contained the recipe for this potion.

Recipe                                                                  
Part 1
  1. Add 1 bezoar to the mortar and crush into a very fine powder using the pestle
  2. Add 4 measures of the crushed bezoar to your cauldron
  3. Add 2 measures of standard ingredient to your cauldron
  4. Heat to a medium temperature for 5 seconds
  5. Wave your wand
  6. Leave to brew and return in 40 minutes with pewter cauldron, 34 minutes with brass cauldron and 30 minutes with copper cauldron
Part 2
  1. Add 1 pinch of powdered unicorn horns to your cauldron
  2. Stir 2 times, clockwise
  3. Add 2 mistletoe berries to your cauldron
  4. Stir 2 times, anti-clockwise
  5. Wave your wand to complete the potion

History

It was a brew that Professor Severus Snape instructed his third-year Potions students to make during the 1986–1987 academic year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
