Harry's Wand

Harry bought his first wand from Ollivanders in Diagon Alley. His wand was made of holly wood and had a phoenix feather core. The phoenix feather came from Albus Dumbledore's phoenix, Fawkes. It was 11 inches in length and happened to be the twin of the wand that had chosen Tom Riddle years earlier. The two twin wands were crafted by Garrick Ollivander.

Quidditch

Quidditch is the most popular and most well-known game in the wizarding world. Harry Potter was introduced to the game in his first year at Hogwarts when Minerva McGonagall saw his extraordinary talent on a broomstick. Harry was the youngest Seeker in over one hundred years at Hogwarts and was given the position to find the Golden Snitch in a match. Catching the Golden Snitch not only awarded your team with one hundred and fifty points in the match, but it also ended the game. The other teammates were responsible for getting as many points as possible, and the team with the most points by the end of the match, won the game. In Harry’s first game of Quidditch, he ended up catching the Snitch by almost swallowing it. He fell off of his broom, and ironically, caught the snitch in his mouth. The snitch is by no means easy to catch, and Harry did a great job as a Seeker. His first year, Minerva McGonagall bought him a Nimbus Two Thousand Broomstick, which was the fastest broom at the time. After his third year, Harry’s Godfather, Sirius Black, bought him a Firebolt Broomstick since his Nimbus Two Thousand was broken after the attack of the Dementors during one of his matches. Harry is known as one of the best Quidditch players of all time and eventually became the captain of the Gryffindor team.

History

Life at Privet Drive

After the death of James and Lily Potter, Harry was taken to Privet Drive where his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon lived. He wasn’t liked much at all by the Dursley’s and he had an extremely difficult time growing up. Harry lived in the cupboard under the stairs his entire childhood and was only given a bedroom after his first year at Hogwarts. He grew up thinking that his parents had died in a car accident since both Vernon and Petunia Dudley didn’t appreciate or accept the idea of magic. When Hagrid flew to Harry to give him his Hogwarts acceptance letter, he learned that his parents were murdered by a powerful dark wizard. At the end of each school year, Harry dreaded going back to his life at Privet Drive and always found it hard to leave his new home at school.

Hogwarts Years

Year 1

During Harry’s first year at Hogwarts, he became good friends with Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. It wasn’t long before he had some enemies as well which lasted throughout all his years at Hogwarts. Draco Malfoy was always picking on Harry and his friends and seemed to get Harry in trouble a few times too. Along his journey, Harry ended up going through a series of challenges with Hermione and Ron to find himself facing a very weak Voldemort. The Philosopher's Stone was in Harry’s possession and helped him defeat Voldemort during his first year at Hogwarts only at eleven years old.

Year 2

In his second year at Hogwarts, the school was shocked to hear that the Chamber of Secrets had been opened. Harry and Ron went to the forbidden forest after following a trail of spiders like Rubeus Hagrid suggested. Along their way, they met Aragog, an Acromantula who was friends with Hagrid. Later in the year, Harry learns that he is a Parseltongue, meaning that he can talk to snakes. Using his newly discovered ability, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and their Defense Against The Dark Arts professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, entered the Chamber of Secrets. Harry see’s Tom Riddle as a memory in the Chamber and learns that he must defeat a Basilisk which was guarding the Chamber in order to save Ginny Weasley’s life. The sword of Gryffindor was brought to Harry in the Chamber and was used to defeat the Basilisk and ultimately destroy a Horcrux that Voldemort created. When the Horcrux was destroyed, Ginny woke up and Harry was rewarded for his heroics once again.

Year 3

Throughout his third year at Hogwarts, Harry became particularly close to the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Remus Lupin, and learned that Professor Lupin and Harry’s father, James Potter used to be good friends. During his entire third year, everyone was on the look-out for Sirius Black, a murderer that had escaped from Azkaban. After discovering that Sirius Black was an innocent man that was framed for a murder that he didn’t commit, Harry learned that Sirius Black was his Godfather. The year seemed to go by pretty well for Harry, and he practiced lots with Professor Lupin in performing a Patronus charm, so he could send Dementors away. Near the end of his third year, he releases a perfect Patronus of a Stag, which saved both Sirius Black’s life and his own. Harry was proud that his Patronus was a Stag since his dad was a Stag animagus himself.

Year 4

During his fourth year at Hogwarts, the Triwizard Tournament was to be held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The tournament is held every five years, each time with four competitors from either Hogwarts, Durmstrang Institute, and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Since the tournament is known for being dangerous, a student must be seventeen years old to enter. To his surprise, Harry’s name was drawn from the Goblet of Fire, and since Harry was only 14, nobody understood how it was possible. However, once a name is picked from the Goblet of Fire, the student has to compete, which meant that Harry had no choice. The four champions of the Triwizard Tournament during Harry’s fourth year was Cedric Diggory (Hufflepuff from Hogwarts), Viktor Krum (from Durmstrang), Fleur Delacour (from Beauxbatons), and of course Harry himself. At the end of the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort, which announced the Dark Lord’s return. In the end, Harry Potter was the winner of the tournament and was awarded the Triwizard Cup.

Year 5

During the summer before his fifth year began, Harry had an encounter with some Dementors in a Muggle town. They started to attack him as well as his cousin, Dudley. Harry used the Patronus charm that he learned in his third year, but was in deep trouble since he wasn’t of age to use magic outside of school. Harry had to meet with the Minister of Magic and almost got expelled from Hogwarts. However, with the help of Dumbledore and a few members of the Order of the Phoenix, he ends up getting a harsh warning. Throughout Harry’s fifth year at Hogwarts, Dolores Umbridge takes over as the Defense Against the Dark Arts position and was sent from the Ministry of Magic to check on the stance of Hogwarts. Throughout the year, Dolores Umbridge ends up taking over Hogwarts, not only getting Professors fired but changing numerous rules that the students must abide by. Near the end of his fifth year, Harry and his friends fight beside the Order of the Phoenix to try and defeat Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Unfortunately, Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black gets murdered and the Minister of Magic finally accepts the idea that Voldemort is back, after denying it for many years.

Year 6

During his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry spends time with Dumbledore trying to find Horcruxes. He learns the dark secrets that follow Voldemort and discovers how to defeat him. Along the journey, Draco Malfoy (Harry’s enemy), joins the Death Eaters and has a task of killing Dumbledore. After finding a Horcrux, Harry witnesses Severus Snape murder Dumbledore to help Malfoy. At the end of his year, Harry and his friends, Hermione and Ron, decide that they will search for Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort once and for all.

Year 7

After Harry completed his sixth year at Hogwarts, he left to destroy Horcruxes with his two friends Ron and Hermione. They had hopes of defeating Voldemort and decided to complete the mission that Albus Dumbledore started and could not finish due to his death. Throughout the hunt, they discovered how to destroy them successfully after failing numerous times. In the middle of their search, Harry found the Sword of Gryffindor, which is a great honor to possess. The search for Horcruxes lead the three friends to many places and required them to get past a dragon in the bottom of Gringotts bank in London.

Second Wizarding War

The second wizarding war involved the conflicts from Lord Voldemort’s second rise to power. Voldemort and his followers, the Death Eaters, caused grief among not only magic communities but muggle ones as well. They had a plan to destroy the Ministry of Magic and control Muggle-born wizards, with a final goal of dominating the entire wizarding world. Harry Potter played a huge role in the Second Wizarding War by fighting alongside a group of Hogwarts students, called Dumbledore’s Army, as well as the Order of the Phoenix. The Second Wizarding War technically began in June of 1995, however, the Ministry of Magic didn’t recognize or announce it as a war until almost a year later in June of 1996. The war ended in May of 1998 at Hogwarts, with the defeat and death of Lord Voldemort. Throughout the war, Harry witnessed the deaths of Severus Snape and Fred Weasley and learned later that his once professor, Remus Lupin, and wife Nymphadora Tonks, as well as Hogwarts friend Colin Creevy, had all been killed. Just before Voldemort’s defeat, Harry Potter went to the Forbidden Forest and met Voldemort in order to save the lives of his friends and survived the Avada kedavra curse for a second time, and made history once again. Lord Voldemort however, thought that he had killed Harry, but instead, Harry Potter pretended to be dead and ended up defeating Voldemort hours later on the Hogwarts grounds.

After the War

After the war ended, Harry became an Auror and helped rebuild the Ministry of Magic. He married Ginny Weasley and had three children (James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna). Their children were named after the great witches and wizards that both Harry and Ginny looked up to: James Potter, Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Lily Potter, and Luna Lovegood. Harry Potter was also named the godfather of Edward Remus Lupin. Harry was promoted to the Head of the Auror Office when he was just twenty-six years old and would sometimes deliver lectures in Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. By the year 2020, he became the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
